This is the last blog, so I really want to say thank you for everyone.
Because I can talk you in this blog and study American student.

Next spring, I am going to go to Canada to study.
And I have both hopes and fears.
But I wanna make friends there.

Winter Holiday

After two weeks, I will have winter holiday which is 3 weeks. I will go to Tokyo Disney Land with my high school friend, by night bus. I want to take photo with Mickey Mouse. I crazy fun of Mickey Mouse. Some day I want take job at Disney Resort.
After that Christmas will coming soon, I will work at my part time job. This day will crowed by people. Also I don't have sepecial plan, I'm　O.K. Maybe I will work on the last day of year. There are few people at my shop, so shop need help.
Next year I mean 2008, I will be 20 yaers old on Feburary. In Japan all 20 people go to school then we docome of age party. Girls wear KIMONO, and Boys wear HAKAMA. I've already bought KIMONO. It has many color. Red, Pink,Blue and yellow. I want go party early. But!! I have some problem, I haven't decided hair set. I have to go beauty salon.

I hope this day will good for my memory, and no snow! If snow coming It make me difficult for walk. I want to meet my old friends. I haven't see them for long time.

Christmas

I will return home next week and start preparing for Christmas. I have to buy Christmas presents for my family (My Mom, Dad, and brother) and my friends. This Christmas is going to be really special, because two of my friends from Osaka (大阪) are coming to visit!! So I have to think about what we will do. Also, we will decorate our house more than usual this year, so I might help with that.

On Christmas Eve, I usually watch a Christmas-themed movie with my parents, such as "It's a Wonderful Life" or "A Christmas Carol." When Christmas morning arrives, my family wakes up early, and we open all the presents. In the late afternoon, many of my relatives come over, and we all have dinner together. Usually we eat Ham or Turkey for dinner...I think this year we will eat Turkey because my friends have never eaten it before!

I think my Japanese friends will be able to see how Christmas in America differs from Christmas in Japan.

日本食

食べ物はいい話題と思うので、食べ物について書きます。

日本に留学した時、色んな食べ物を食べて、初めて食べた日本食がたくさんありました。例えば、日本に行った前にたこ焼きやお好みやけと納やそばやてんぷらを食べたことがなかったです。そして、何回も寿司を食べました。た焼きとお好みやけが特に好きだけど、残念ながら、アメリカでたこ焼きとお好みやけが買えません。

日本のチョコも一回食べたけど、アメリカのチョコとの違いがあまり分かりませんでした＞＜。でも、違いがあるらしいです。

日本にいた時、一番好きな食事は晩ご飯でした。ホームステイの家族と一緒に食べて、喋ってて、面白かったからです。ホストのお母さんは色んな食べ物を食べさせてくれました。

和食とアメリカの食べ物がずいぶん違うことに気づきました。

ホストのお母さんが作ったお好みやけの写真を付けました。

Japanese Food

Hello.What do you like Japanese food? I like Sushi. Last week I went to HATUsushi(初寿司) with my family. I can't eat raw fishi, because it tastes not good for me. I always eat prawn(エビ), natto（納豆）,tamago（卵）and grill conger(焼きあなご). Thase taste really good! Have you eaten natto? It's really good. I eat 2 times a week. My family really like natto, so there are full of natto in refrigerator.

Yesterday, my mother cooked curry rice. My mother puts chocolate and milk. Maybe some family do that. Also my mother puts natto.
I like potato, so there are many many potato in curry.

I orderd Christmas cake one month ago. I like chocolate cake, I don't like white cream. When I was very young, Iwent to coffee shop with my family. I ordered ice cocoa. It was white cream in it. BUT!!!! That white cream was bad. Then I can't eat it any more.

My mother ordered white cream cake for my younger brother and chocolate cream cake for me.
I want eat it!!

食べ物

こんにちは★

今日は授業で食べ物についてやりました。
皆さんは何が好きですか??
私はパスタとクレープが好きですｖｖ
嫌いな食べ物は、メロン、すいか、レーズンです。
特にメロンはにおいを嗅ぐだけでも気持ち悪くなってしまいます。

留学した友達によると、オーストラリアでは青い生クリームがあったそうです。
とても驚きました。

私は去年友達とヨーロッパに旅行しました。そのとき、イタリアでリゾットを食べました。すごくおいしかったです。また、パリではムール貝を食べました。
私は始めて海外に行ったんですが、２週間で２，３キロ太りました；；；

ミシガンではどんな食べ物が有名ですか？
あと、日本にきたら食べたい物はありますか？

カラオケ！

友達とカラオケに行ったんですけど、あまり日本曲聞いたことが無いので歌えられる日本曲がありませんでした。
三時間の間、ただ座っているままで＄３０ぐらい'Waste'してしまいました。
すごく悔しいかったので、日本の曲を歌いたいです。
有名で歌いやすい曲（男子用）があったら教えてください。

★Fashion★

Today I studied fashion in class.
What is your favorite style?
I like pants style, but recently I also wear a one-piece dress.

In class, the fashion like Japanese girls seems to be a prostitute in America.Is that true?
If yes, I should wear a jeans and sweater when I go there, shouldn't I?

Do you know "gal"（ギャル）? "Gal" is a girl with a face rubbing by a brown fandation.
It was popular about 10 years ago in Japan. But now we rarely see "gal."

What style is popular in America?
And what style was popular last year, not this year?

Japanese fashion

This season Japanese trendy fashion is bootie boots. It is short pair boots which is lengh to ankle. Also my friends wear it , but I'm not going to wear that,because it willbe a fad someday. I don't have much money.
I suprised for foreign country's fashion. You know? Von Duch. It is real bland name but people wear fake T-shirts like Von Bithch. I couldn't understand. Why? Maybe in Japan if people wear like that T-shirt, everyone think "Are you crazy?"
This season I bought colored tights. Red, black and purple. They are very usefull.
I bought black coat, it is also usefull,too.
I always go shopping with my friend and my family. We decide"Today we are going to shopping".But fainally We go window shopping.

Black Friday

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of November's 4th week is thanksgivings holiday.
In US, families gather up during the thanksgivings, and enjoy turkey dinner together.
Because I'm not 100% americanized, I tend to do something other than what most of typical American families do during thanksgivings.

Black Friday is on Friday of thanksgivings week. It offers the biggest discount sale during the year from most of retailers. In terms of accounting and finance, the color of black represents profitability, while red represents loss. Because a lot of people purchases items from various stores, the stores tends to make profit particularly during this day. That is why it's called 'Black Friday.'

During Black Friday, lots of electronic items go on sale. I believe Bestbuy, one of leading electronic retailer, offers biggest discount for their customers. This year, they offered one of Sony laptop for $400 (regular price $850). Also, they offered desktop system with monitor and color printer for $199 (about 18,000 yen).

Black Friday sounds very tempting deal do customers. However, there is one downside to it.

























About 500 people waits for the Bestbuy. The thing is that the store carries only about 20 of computers and laptops with +50% discount. To be one of 20 people in line, for this year, you have to wait in line for 15 hours outside (from 2PM to 5AM). To make things even worse, the temperature was below freezing point.

Getting in is one thing. Getting out is another beauty about Black Friday.














Because people buys so much, it takes very long time for cashers to process transaction.
It takes about 2 hours to check out.
although it may look hectic to wait in line, it can save lots of money for you.
Let me summarize this post in Japanese.

-Thanksgivingの金曜日にはBlack Fridayと言うバーゲンセイルがあります。
-Black Fridayは普通のバーゲンセイルとは違って、一年中一回しかありません。

今日は授業でFirst dateについて勉強しました。
皆さんは始めてのデートでどこへ行きましたか？
私は映画館へ行きました。
彼は映画を見ている間中ずっと私の手を握っていました。
だから私は手をつないでいることに気をとられ正直映画のストーリーはあまり覚えていません；；

授業で友達に「最初のデートでは何をしたいですか？」と聞いたところ、買い物（Shopping)という答えが多かったです。理由は彼がどんな物がすきなのかがわかるからというものでした。
皆さんはどう思いますか？

初めてのデートでは、男性と女性どちらがお金を払いますか？
私は割り勘がいいと思います。
そういえばアメリカでは割り勘することを'Let's go dutch' というんですか？
dutchはオランダ人という意味でよね？なぜこのように言うんですか？

初めてのデート

こんにちは★　日本は昨日からとても、寒くなりました。家ではストーブとこたつ出しました。
今日は”初めてのデート”　について、勉強しました。　皆はどこに行って、何をしたり話したりしますか？　したいですか？

わたしは出掛けるなら、映画観たいです。緊張するから、映画だとずっと画面を観ていればいいし、その最中話す必要がないから。終わっても映画について話ができるから。　でも、恋愛ものとかは、絶対観たくないです。普段からわたしは恋愛ものが苦手です・・・。　なんか、ありえない（現実的じゃない）って思って。　心臓がかゆくなるっていうか・・・　ロマンチックな雰囲気が苦手なんです。　だから初めてのデートで恋愛映画とか無理です。　観るならやっぱりコメディーの方が、お互い楽しめるし。　

オーストラリアで観たベン・スティラーが主演の名前忘れちゃったんですけど、主人公（F~なんとか）の名前が英語であんまりよくない意味で、第２段くらい作られた映画。（１話は女の人と付き合うまでを描いたもの、２話はその女の人と結婚するため）

食べに行くなら、ファーストフード店のような安い店がいいです。　高い店（高級レストラン）だと緊張して食べれないしマナーもよく分からないので。　なんか、彼にも悪いと思うしそして、逆にわたしにエレガントな大人の女性になってほしいのか？って思ってしまいます。
あと買い物にも一緒に行きたくないです。彼の服装のテイスト（？）が分からないと、アドバイスもできないし逆にその子も私にアドバイスができないと思うので。

飲み物

今日は、飲み物について勉強しました。皆はどんな飲み物が好きですか？
わたしはアセロラジュースっていう、果実を使った飲み物とコントレックスっていう水を毎日飲んでいます。
アセロラジュースは、スーパーでよく売っています。　ちょっと、始めはスッパイと思います。ビタミンCがたくさん入っていて（レモンの５０倍？）肌を白くするみたいです。　日本人は肌を白くしたり真っ黒にするのが好きなんです。わたしは、絶対白がいいいですけど・・・。なんでアジア人は黄色なんですかね？？

コントレックスはただの水です。でも硬水って言って、水自体が硬いから飲みにくいです。でも、カルシウムとか普通の水よりたくさん入っていて、健康にいいみたいです。

皆は苦手な飲み物ってありますか？わたしはたくさんあって、コーヒー、紅茶、炭酸、お酒は全く飲めません。いつも１００％のオレンジ、リンゴジュースとかしか飲まないです。
コーヒーは苦くて・・・。わたしはバイトでコメダコーヒー店（東海地方しかない）で高校生の時から働いてるんですが、お客さんに”どれがおいしいの？”って聞かれるんですけど、飲んだことないし・・・。とか思いつつ、”不味い”とか”分かりません”て答えてはいけないので、おいしいですって答えます。
苦しいウソを毎回ついています。
紅茶は甘いし、炭酸はシュワシュワして嫌なんです。

わたしは抹茶が大好きで、（アイスクリームとか抹茶商品）　最近スターバックスによく行きます。コーヒーは飲めないので、いつも抹茶クリームフラペチーノを飲みます。すごくおいしくて、週に１・２回は飲みに行きます。この前、タンプラーを買ってしまい友達に”どんだけ飲むの？”って言われました。それくらいスターバックス大好きなんです。コメダで働いてるのに。
きっと抹茶は日本だけにしかないのかもしれません。もし日本に来たら抹茶を飲んでください。

日本はお酒を飲めるのは２０歳になってからなので、わたしは来年からしか飲めないんですが、皆の国は何歳からお酒が飲めますか？お酒のんで失敗したことはありますか？
わたしの友達は、店で一日を寝てすごしたそうです。

今日は授業でDrinkingについて学びました。
皆さんはどんな飲み物が好きですか??
私はいつも学校へ行くときペットボトルに水を入れて持っていきます。
夜はコーヒー牛乳(Coffee and Milk)を飲んでリラックスします。

皆さんはお酒を結構飲みますか??
あたしは普段あまり飲みませんが友達と遊んだりするときは飲みます。
お酒に弱いので少し飲むと心臓がばくばくしてしまいます；；
先日、高校時代の友達と久しぶりに会いました。
そのとき居酒屋でカクテルを飲みました。とてもおいしかったｗｗ
でも私はお酒に弱いので緑茶も頼みました。
それなのに、次の朝頭が超痛かったです；；；二日酔いかなぁ…

Body Language

Today, I studied about body language in my class.
What do you think of a Japanese one? For example bow(おじぎ).
When you meet someone first time, what will you do?
In Japan, most of the people bow and say "konnitiwa" or "doumo."
I heard that people shake their hands in America.
So in class I practiced shaking hands with my friends!

Also, what will you do when you beckon someone?
In india, people make a movement with their head.
I think it is very intersting.
and people in india use their chin when they point at something.

There are different gesture all over the world.
I wanna listen your opinion.

Today class

Hello! Today I learned foreign countries body languages and gestures.
I found there are different gesture Japan and foreign countries. In Japan, many people use V sign when we take photo.
My class treacher asked us that "Why Japanese use V sign when you take photo?"

I always use that , but I haven't noticed .
When I went to Australia, my friends asked me the same question , but I don't know why we use that. I'm going to examine, it is my home work.
I learned from my Australian friends that crossing index and middle fingers. It mean "good luck". And bend index finger and middle finger. Japanese don't use these gestures.

In your country, do you have your country original gestures or body languages?

Halloween

It is not common to enjoy Halloween around me, so I didn't understand it very well.
But last Monday, I learned about it in the class and I think it is very interesting!
This year, what costume did you wear?
Yesterday(October 31), I saw a girl who wore a costume of animation character in my school.
I was very suprised and I cannot help laughing when I saw her.
I asked her to take a picture with me.
I want to up the picture but I don't know how to do. I'm sorry;;;

My Japanese homestay family

I already wrote a short self-introduction in September, so I thought I'd write a little bit about my Japanese homestay family.

My host Dad's name was Kazuhiko. He didn't seem to have much time for hobbies, because he worked so much, but he loved fishing. Interestingly, he drank only tea and お酒, and I don't think I ever saw him drink juice or soda（笑）。

My host mom had a great sense of humor, and often joked around with me. She was also very nice, and helped me with my Japanese homework when I had any questions.
One of her most interesting characteristics was her obession with a korean actor named Pe Yon Jun（ヨン様). She put his pictures ALL over the house, and had tons and tons of ヨン様 merchandise.

My host parents had a son, but he was working in Tokyo, so I wasn't able to meet him, unfortunately.

When I first arrived at my homestay house, I was really nervous and couldn't really relax. Also, my homestay parents spoke 関西弁, so I had trouble understanding them sometimes. They were so nice to me, and treated me like a family member, so after a few days I got used to living there. I even got used to 関西弁 and actually grew to like it! They took me to many places, like Kyoto and Nara, and they really treated me as a family member! I feel so lucky to have been able to stay with them!

日本語のハリー・ポッター

読書が好きですが、最近、教科書ばかり読んでいて、ちょっと面白くないです。だから、この間、日本語のハリー・ポッターを読んでみました。
一年前に日本語のハリー・ポッターの本を買いました。その時、読んでみたけど、知らない言葉がたくさんあって、辞書を引きながら読んで、すぐ疲れて諦めました。でも、この間、その時から日本語が少し上達したかなと思って、またハリー・ポッターを読んでみました。今、日本語がもっとわかって、ＤＳの便利な辞書のソフトを持ってるので、もっと読めました。まだたくさん読んでないけど、毎日日本語の本を読むようにしたいです。全部わからなくても、日本語の読書の早さを増えたくて、新しい言葉を習えるかもしれないので、頑張ります。
英語のハリー・ポッターをまだ見てないので、話が詳しくわかりませんが、友達が面白いと言いました。ハリー・ポッターの映画を見たけど、本を読んでいなかったので、内容を迷っていました（笑）。

I'm sleepy.

Hello. Today is Halloween isn't it? Trick or Treat! Today I got some sweets from my friend.

Recentry I study license which is personal assistant. On June I had a test, but I was falling. That's why I have to study more, and today's title "sleepy".

On Monday I had Halloween party at class. I played game.Bingo and I forgot the other game name... I couldn't get prize.
In Japan, We do nothing special at Halloween. Just had ordinary day.

What do you do Halloween in your country? Do you wear costume?

My school

Good evening.
I'm an university student and go to school on weekday.
It takes about 1 hour from my house and it is not handy, I think.
But I like school because I can meet my friends and study English.
Last month, It was rainning when I went home. but I didn't have an unbrella.
Then a friend of mine said will you share her umbrella.
I was grateful to her for helping me.

こんにちわ

今回はペットについて話したいと思います。
わたしは、ミニチュアダックスフント（２歳）を飼っています★名前はアシュレー（メス）わたしが留学していたときに、一番仲良しだった女の子から名前をもらいました。
アシュレーは犬なのに散歩と犬が嫌いで、いつも散歩のときは大変です。（o´Д｀o）
最近太ってきたので、飼い主と一緒にダイエットしてます。(＞(エ)＜o)

本当は自分で世話をする約束だったのですが、学校やバイトで忙しくて、世話はいつも親に手伝ってもらっています。
一番アシュレーが下の子なので、自分でわかっているのか、イタズラばっかりします。(●´ω')

来年わたしの弟が大学生になったら、今まで頑張ったプレゼントでまた１匹犬を飼うかもしれません。
すごく楽しみです.(*´艸｀)

こんにちは。
今日は、私の名前について書きたいと思います。
私の名前は大脇(owaki)千里(chisato)です。
姓は「大脇」で、直訳すると「大きな脇」、つまり"big side" です。
名は「千里」です。母・里美にちなんでつけられました。
千里は「ちさと」の他に「せんり」とも読むことが出来ます。
せんりとは長い道のり(a long long way)　という意味です。
私はなぜ両親がこの名前をつけてくれたのか知りません。
でも私はこの名前が好きです。

Yesterday

On Monday, I studied "my name's origin".
My name is 林　志帆(Hayahsi Shiho). 林 is my last name. It means trees. Maybe a long time ago my ancastors lived in near forest. That's why my last name be 林.

And 志帆 is my first name, it means Have a wish highly.
I like my first name but I don't like last name. 林(hayashi) is ordinary ordinary ordinary...
In my town there are lot of 林. Almost of them are my relatives.

月曜日クラスで名前の意味について勉強しました。
私の名前は林　志帆で林は木からもらいました。　きっと昔わたしの先祖は森に近いところで住んでいたからだと思う。

志帆の意味は強い心でいるように（志を高く持つ）って言う意味。
